Center for Security Practice, Intelligence, Research, and Advanced Learning
Systems in Operation
Toward the future of cybersecurity.
Activities, Events & News
The Center’s activities are organized around four laboratories. The Advisory Board brings together expertise from diverse fields and provides strategic guidance on the Center’s direction. The Support Members provide the foundation for the Center’s activities, supporting and enabling its research, education, and practical initiatives.
As the Center’s largest laboratory, the CyRaP Lab (Cybersecurity Research and Practice Lab) leads cutting-edge research at the intersection of cybersecurity and AI. The Lab also undertakes activities that contribute to both research excellence and organizational security, including building secure research and educational environments, supporting campus security operations—including incident response support by student teams—and developing research security guidelines.
By bringing together leading researchers and practitioners from universities, public research institutes, and industry in Japan and abroad, as well as emerging researchers who will shape the next generation, the Lab aims to generate world-leading research outcomes.
The NexCrypt Lab (Next-Generation Cryptography Lab) leads cutting-edge research on next-generation cryptography and its applications, including post-quantum cryptography, which forms a fundamental foundation of the information society.
Looking ahead to emerging threats arising from the digital transformation of society and advances in computing technologies, the Lab aims to develop cryptographic technologies that provide the security required for future information systems and social infrastructure, and to translate these technologies into real-world applications.
The CyAPEX Lab (Cybersecurity Advanced Practical Education and eXpertise Lab) promotes the development of highly skilled cybersecurity professionals through practical learning based on cutting-edge research and an educational curriculum that brings together expertise from within and beyond the University.
The Lab also engages leading practitioners with extensive experience in industry–academia collaboration, cyber exercises, and CTFs, providing students with the knowledge, technical skills, and decision-making capabilities required in real-world settings. Through these efforts, the Lab pursues truly practical cybersecurity education that prepares the next generation of professionals to address real-world challenges.
The CyLINK Lab (Cybersecurity Linkage, Innovation, Networking and Knowledge-Sharing Lab) works to bring domestically developed security intelligence and technologies arising from outstanding research into society and create new value through international standardization, intellectual property development, commercialization, partnerships, and outreach and communication.
With leading industry professionals participating in its activities, the Lab seeks to connect university-developed security technologies with the needs of society and build mechanisms for maximizing their impact and returning their value to society.
